When Tears Are All You Have

To the person reading this. The one whose heart is broken, whose hope is gone, who feels empty and discouraged. I want you to know that I among so many others have cried tears much like yours. The tears that completely and utterly rock you to the deepest depths of your soul. That feeling that nothing at all will ever be right again. Please know that even when you feel you are at the bottom of that ocean and the waves keep knocking you back under, there is still air above that water. There may be storm clouds bringing the winds causing those waves but my friend, there is air. Rise to the top even if just for a second and take a breath. Even if you get taken back down into those depths, I want you to fight your hardest to float back to the top and take a breath of that fresh air.nnKnow that the storm or storms causing the waves to keep knocking you under will move on. Your job is to fight back and reach for that air. As that storm rolls out and those waters start to calm, and you find yourself resurfacing, be excited that you my dear person have won a battle. You are stronger than you thought. You are made of tough stuff. You have learned from this experience and now you are equipped to move on in life.nnIt is always okay to cry those tears, don’t worry if they make you stop in your tracks. Let them fall. God gave us tears. Our bodies are meant to leak when what we are holding inside is too much to keep there. When you are done with letting it out, take that breath, know that life is worth the fight, learn and use your knew knowledge to show someone else that they are not alone in these big emotions.nnI hope you read this and feel encouraged. I hope you read this and understand that falling apart will happen. I hope you read this and know that I am here praying for whomever you are – keep fighting to get to the air – breath – and know that you are strong.nn nn
