Why Is the Word ‘Box’ Backwards in My Logo?

It’s not a design error—it’s a message.

The backward “box” is a quiet but powerful way to bring attention to something that affects 1 in 5 children: dyslexia. It’s a learning difference that often goes undiagnosed, especially in children who are bright, creative, and doing their best to keep up—until they start to struggle in ways that break your heart.

I know this firsthand.
My own child has mild dyslexia. And while teachers are doing the very best they can with what they have, it was my mother’s instinct that told me something more was going on. I followed that nudge, had her assessed by a dyslexia specialist, and we began a tutoring journey that changed everything.

She will always have to work harder in some areas—but now, she has tools.
She understands how her brain works.
She catches her own errors.
And her reading comprehension has improved dramatically—because she’s no longer just decoding letters, she’s actually absorbing the meaning behind the words.

If you’re a parent and something just feels off with your child’s reading or writing—even if their grades are “fine”—trust that feeling. You’re not alone, and you’re not overreacting.

Signs to look for:

  • Difficulty learning to read or sounding out words
  • Poor spelling and inconsistent writing
  • Trouble remembering the sequence of things
  • Avoiding reading out loud or homework frustration
  • A big gap between spoken and written ability

What you can do:

This is a journey that so many families are quietly walking.
To the moms (and dads) feeling overwhelmed and unsure—I see you.
To the kids who are trying so hard to make sense of letters that seem to dance on the page—you are not broken.
And to everyone who sees that backward “box”—may it remind you to look a little closer, listen a little deeper, and love a little harder.
