Sunnies

Lover of sunglasses, shades, sunnies, sun specs? So many names! My family may have a slight addiction to sunglasses and that is probably just covering up the fact that we have spent waaaaay too much money on some sunnies. LOL! Eye protection is important though, so I don’t feel too terrible about it. We only get one set of eyes!nnI love to keep our sunglasses at the door but throwing them in a basket is not the best idea. Randomly I would wonder what I could do with them but had yet to come up with something I liked. While perusing in Hobby Lobby at the start of summer; I found a cute unfinished sign in the shape of sunglasses. It was just a few bucks so I grabbed it thinking that maybe my daughter would like to paint it for a fun summer project. Well….after storing it and forgetting about it for over a month I came up with a plan for it. (Sorry daughter, mom kinda took over what was supposed to be for you.)nnCheck out this pair of Shades!nnHere is the sign unfinished.nnUnfinished Sunglasses SignI had to come up with my plan on how to paint this thing…nnI decided on these colors. Random picks from my selection of paints. I love to paint so I have a ton of colors but no matter what colors I have pre-made, I always find myself mixing my own blend. (Telling you this in case you note a different color or tone of color in the finished project.)nnWith this blank canvas I was up in the air about what to paint. Finally after going back and forth in my head I decided I wanted tropical. I love mirror lenses and thought what the heck, let’s try it. So this is what I came up with!nnnnNot a perfect mirror image but not bad for my first go at this. Now, I decided to hunt down some ribbon to turn these shades into a holder for all our sunnies!! Lo and behold, I found the perfect thing…at Hobby Lobby of course! I couldn’t believe I found something that perfectly matched the paint colors I had selected.n
