Revisiting a Lost Passion
Wood Burning. My grandfather did this as well as my grandmother when they made beautiful signs, toys, piggy banks, chests, and more from wood. They did this when I was really young but taught me a few things about it as I grew up. I wished I had been around when they did this every day. I wasn’t, so I only learned a few things about this craft. Craving to revisit some of those memories; I dug out my wood burner….only to find it no longer worked. Disappointed but determined, I sat down and hunted for a decent wood burner that would get the job done without costing me a small savings. Thank goodness for Google and Amazon! I found one, ordered it, and now I am walking down memory lane. Unfortunately , wood burning has not come back to me super fast. After a few tries I finally remembered the way I need to hold it and how long to keep the burner on the wood for the coloring I am looking for. Now I need to try a few projects and see how it goes!
